I'd like you to meet my representative...

She is always impeccably dressed, she is put together, witty and intriguing. She thinks before she speaks, you'll never find her rattling off her feelings on a whim, and that permanent smile is meant to leave you wanting more. She is a subdued version of her client. She is a constant reminder of her worth. She considers herself a mirror image. She'll tell you she's not the only representative. Her client isn't always agreeable. She manages a rebellious nature. I don't always follow her lead. I'm not sure she doesn't make things more complicated. There are plenty of  reasons to completely ignore her. Where do you end up if you embrace complete ambivalence to the rules?

Great Expectations

"Everything I have ever done, I've done for you."
-Finn, Great Expectations

Not all stories have happy endings. Some of them are unrequited. Sometimes I worry about becoming a Havisham? Living stuck amongst the dust, the burned down ruins of a life that's made up. What if its all for not. Continually disappointed by great expectations, living a life of limits on where my mind should wander. Unfortunately I'm not built that way. I still wish for something hopeful, where every Stella finds her Finn. Some days it's harder than others. Life is not about Cinderella. Here I am grocery store wandering, creating petitions for happy endings, making peace with bad decisions, searching wildly for better conclusions. Everything is for something else.

Lesson #30: Be happy with what you have.

Happy Anniversary!

3 years ago I sat at a desk in the corner office of where I sit now. I fit perfectly in place. Sometimes where you are is exactly where you are supposed to be. Suddenly there it is, so obvious, yet so illusive. I choose to believe in the wind, it blows us where we belong. Maybe it's crazy, maybe no matter where we go there we are, but I think that might be wrong. Some of my best friends met in 6th grade, you should hear them tell the story of how they came together. It's the people who still laugh at each others jokes, who get jealous, who share a friendship, and share their lives, those are the anniversaries we celebrate. So today I celebrate my anniversary, thank God I have a job I love. No matter what else happens, no matter where I go, here I am, a totally different person than the scared girl who sat here 3 years ago. For worse or for better, we belong, we belong, we belong together.

Lesson #11: Celebrate the moments that matter.

L.O.V.E

Star light, star bright,
first star I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might,
have the wish, I wish tonight.
We'll make a wish, and do as dreamers do,
and all our wishes,
will come true.

Lesson #3: Good things come to those who wait.
