LJ HOLMES PRESENTS CODY AND THE ELF

Asharad smirked! Anyone seeing his "grin" would have run for the hills, and rightly so.
He has "fresh" blood on his hands.
Mounting the steps to the King's palace, Asharad's smirk deepened. Annoying little tick...well he would defy Asharad no more. That thought had the evil advisor stopping mid-step. All he'd asked for was that...

...accursed Elven power crystal...not the keys to the King's gold. With it in his hands all that he surveyed would be his...and would no longer be the King's lackey advisor...
...Oh No! He would be EMPEROR of all lands near and far and none would DARE defy him! Well, for now, he'd have to remain subservient to this unworthy king, and bide his time. But...
Beyond the nearby forests...
...young Cody, son of a contented farmer, was busily working the land. Cody loved working the soil and bringing forth life sustaining grains and foods for the coming winter. Plowing on, he was humming to himself until...something...some sound...faint...reached him. What was that? Pain...something, someone was hurting. Stopping his forward movement, Cody headed towards the forest and those plaintive whimpers.
Larian's cries were weak. He was in deep trouble, the arrow from Asharad's rage still embedded deep in his flesh, but he was an elf. His mewls resonated upon the surrounding earth life and spread throughout the soil. Every drop of his blood, soaking into the loam made the earth scream. Cody followed the screams.
Back at his family's farmhouse, Larian was nursed back to health, forging an unbreakable bond between the humans and the elf. But secrets such as harboring an elf, have their own wings, and wings spread the word quickly, reaching the ballistic ears of the King's Advisor. The son of the lying hound lives? Asharad's fury explodes. The traitors and the vile elf must die.
Cody, Larien at his side, feels his heart shatter. He and Larien, standing on the edge of the nearby forests, watch Cody's family's farm burn, his father, mother, and sister's murdered bodies, becoming the ash that co-mingles with the ash from the farm they had all so deeply loved.
"Come," Larien urges his devastated friend...and together they return to...
...The Land Of the Elves.

The farm "boy", his heart and spirit aching for his dead family and the injustice of his destroyed heritage, grows into a strong, capable man. He even finds his beloved and marries...
...the beautiful Liriel.
"It is time." Time to return and rebuild what was Cody's and what Asharad took from him...all three set off, Cody, Liriel, and Larien.

"Asharad won't give up easily," Larien warns. "He wants the Crystal and the power it'll give him. He will never stop pursuing it."
What will happen?
