Last Sunday we have been in the small village of Egmond-by-the-Sea, on the northwestern Dutch coast.
After parking, we went for a walk above the dunes on the beach we were welcomed by this fantastic hairy friend:
This bull was so sweet, he greeted us and startet to lik the hands of passers-by !
For a Brazilian person is very surprising to know that North Europeans go to their beaches even in a cloudy, windy or cold day. Dogs and children were running around, women wearing their fancy clothes and chic shoes...
Bikeriders were also having a good moment. The Dutch call this: to get a fresh nose (een frisse neus halen).
Note the iron constructions on the sand (photos above).. They serve as foundations for the kiosks and bars/restaurants and pavillions that are build during spring and summer seasons.
Check this one with country/sea life inspired products:
I am especially fond of this shop with products such as lamps, bowls, dishes, tajines, candle holders and tiles from Tunesia:
On the way back to the parking lot we noticed for the first time a museum about the city of Egmond. But it was raining and we had no patience or time to check it inside. Sorry readers !
There are a lot variations in the the size of houses: very big and very small houses in Egmond. Also many flats with apartments. I pictured some of those peculiar tiny houses below:
It was a great weekend, we walked a lot, woods in Bergen and beach in Egmond, plus lots of shops !
