Greetings from Rio # 2: Granado

Strolling in Leblon, Rio, I was sucked into this shop: Granado. I think it is more than a shop, it is an apothecary heritage that has a very strong retro flair and absolutely honest products.
Founded in 1870, for more than a century Granado has established a solid name in the market developing pharmaceutical products and cosmetics of high quality. Soap "Phebo" (the classic, and the Amazon version) are something I missed a lot during my first years in Brazil. In the 90's the company was pioneer in the production of soaps which are 100% natural and made of extracts of herbs, flowers and Brazilian fruit. On the photo above you see soaps made of Acai (a fruit from the amazon), Brazilian nuts and Hamamelis. So fragrant and so delicious you will be tempted to eat them !

I have bought two items from the new pink line for a fabulous pedicure: a foot scrub (with particles of pomice rock) and a wax for cuticules and nails. The pink line looks vintage and girls fall in love with the whole thing: the colour, the simplicity and the promise of princess feet.

If you wish to know more about Granado click here for a beautiful text (in English only), or go to: http://www.brandchannel.com/features_profile.asp?pr_id=432

Or visit the site: www.granado.com.br You can also shop on line.
